What is an Izakaya?

An izakaya (居酒屋) (Japanese: [izakaja], ee-ZAH-ka-yah) is a type of informalJapanese gastropub.

Welcome to Miho Izakaya!

Dearest Portland,

After eight wonderful years we have decided to close our little izakaya

We hope that you will join us for our final week of service ending on Thursday November 30th

Thank you all for your support and stay tuned for future projects by us, on FB and IG

It's been a pleasure serving you,

Michael and Megan Miho

A little bit about who we are and what we do:

MiHo Izakaya is a family owned and operated Japanese pub, located in a 100 year old, craftsman style home in North Portland. We offer a variety of beer, sake, shochu, as well as signature cocktails and a full bar. Chef Michael Miho invites you to experience Japanese cuisine beyond sushi, serving up traditional and modern dishes meant to be shared “tapas style” by everyone at the table. We have daily food specials, weekly drink specials and have both indoor and outdoor seating available. All ages are welcome!

MiHO Izakaya has a private tatami room available where customers sit on tatami mats and dine from a low table in the traditional Japanese style. This room is reserved for parties of 4 or more. We have on and off site catering available, please call us to inquire!
